Bedfordshire Oasis Christian Fellowship Church
About BOCFC

  • BOCFC is a Christian based ethos Church, for anyone without a regular Church or who, for some reason, needs either time out, a break or to stand back and explore their place in the whole of what God wants, not just myopical segmentalisms of one kind or another. However, having said this, BOCFC believes the Church is the people gathered, not buildings, professions and assets/money and God inhabits the praises of His people. BOCFC should not be used to play one Group or Church off from another, nor to vent specifically targeted personal grievances publicly; if you have not sought the Matthew Chapter 18 route for resolution, and even then, to take it to the Lord and leave it with Him to judge and sort out; forgive, let go and move on in Him also.

  • BOCFC also does seek to reach out and aspires to provide a worship and fellowship/including be-friending and mutual support avenues for specific people where it is wanted, felt are neglected or disproportionately shunned, marginalised, discriminated against or rejected and seeks to enable them to conjoin to growth and wholeness and seeking the new thing God may want for them, have a life which is focused on His service, loving others for him, helping others and being salt and light with a regard to witnessing to what Jesus has and does do for us and how others can seek and find Him also.

  • We do have an expression of interest database which you can, through the downloadable form subscribe to be on (concessions offered to those on lower incomes/benefits or none) and also the general subscribers news-sheet, which covers snippets from the wider businesses and activities associated thereof. In short BOCFC is about God, people and the whole of lives, 7 day relevance and neither extremes of just one day for business as usual or unrealistic doctrinares of ‘x8 days a week’ in terms of commodification of the dignity of all of Gods creation, people being a pivotally significant and highly valued part thereof, which we exploit at our own human perils.

  • BOCFC wants to extend a genuine welcome to all people and this includes gay/lesbian/bi-sexual people as much as anyone else. We particularly welcome all who come to us in a spirit and attitude of love, peace and desiring to build honest and constructive bridges. This does not mean, we condone or condemn gay lifestyles, but rather, we do not believe this is what God intended for his Church to judge or be preoccupied with, rather to serve one another in love, just as Christ has and does do for us. Thus, at BOCFC, we will seek to value and welcome all people who come to us for mutual friendship, support and fellowship, be constructive and help each other.

  • BOCFC’s prayer is, that more and more of God's people; the Church at all levels and kinds and into wider society and the media; can begin to enter in supportive manner to the spirit and letter of our heart's desire, that gay/lesbian and bi-sexuals are people made in God's image as human beings, as much as anyone else, should enjoy equal treatment before the Law in Civic Society and consumerism and should be made welcome. At BOCFC we will seek to reject homophobia, prejudice or alienation from wherever it comes from, seeking fair play and justice for all, in all we aspire to in honouring God and His Name!

  • BOCFC deplores all violence and welcomes all who come in love and peace.

  • BOCFC approaches the issue of wealth, in that 'no one should have too much, nor anyone too little', sharing, redistribution and recycling, can make huge inroads into the war on want; for example turning off the TV, giving it away and cancelling the License fee, which can then release more time and money to serve God by helping other people, saving energy and reducing pollution of the mind and soul. Ditto rebuilding local rail links for people and goods, saves fossil fuel, and gives people choices and less need/reliance on cars, lorries and expensive road building schemes, reduces the drain of life, land and talent and keeps costs down too generally, through real choices which add up wholistically in the sum and round of human daily life and sustainability issues for all!

  • Compliance in anything should not be from compunction, rather because we agree and want to - God seeks our hearts most of all.

  • BOCFC wants to be a friendly Christian ethos-based movement BOCFC - we will seek to value and welcome all people as made in God's image and we are against homophobia, prejudice or alienation and for seeking fair play, justice, equity and proportionality of cost and responsibility for all, in all we aspire to, in honouring God and His Name. Reciprocity is best nurtured by approaches by us all, as no better and no worse than anyone else; but where there are differences or people don’t want what we’re into; then they and us to be allowed to respectively ‘move-on’. Amen.
